Cortisol treatment for fibromyalgia
Thanks to the fact that we know that fibromyalgia is caused by low cortisol levels, a doctor has found a simplified way of treating the symptoms caused by fibromyalgia. If there is low cortisol produced by the fatigues adrenal glands, why not give cortisol steroid to the patient?
Dr. Kent Holtorf, M.D. conducted a study involving 500 participants diagnosed with fibromyalgia. He gave his cortisol treatment to each of these patients, and by their fourth visit, 94% have shown improvement. In general, 62% of these people have shown substantial improvement of symptoms, which is more than half of the participants. Also, by the fourth visit, the participants expressed that they feel an improved sense of well-being, as well as an increase on their energy levels.
Dr. Holtorf’s treatment only involved taking in 5 to 15 milligrams of cortisol per day – a low risk dose for steroid intake.
While this may be great news for patients suffering from fibromyalgia, they should wait first for other supporting studies that will verify the effectiveness of Dr. Holtorf’s cortisol treatment.
