Correlation between deep sleep and fibromyalgia?
Submitted by Parsley on Mon 12/07/2009 - 09:11
When you feel that every single cell of your body is aching more often than a strenuous work, it might be a sign of fibromyalgia. It is better that you take note of the pain that you are experiencing.
Regular pain may be due to a swollen muscle or a wound. In fibromyalgia, these are absent. You just feel the intense pain – period! The pain is all over your body.
Those who suffer fibromyalgia have interrupted sleeps. Deep sleep is a luxury to these people who suffer. Studies have shown that the lack of deep sleep may have contributed in the feeling of heaviness. Of course, this process may also be vice-versa. Meaning, the pain has deprived the person of the much needed rest.
In this case, fibromyalgia is a cycle of pain to no deep sleep to more pain. Providing the occasion and the venue to sleep may help ease the pain of the sufferer. The challenge now is how to provide the occasion and the setting.
Should doctors provide sedatives to those who are suffering fibromyalgia?
