Fibromyalgia: who suffers from it

There is no known cause why fibromyalgia is commonly suffered by more women than men. Women who are afflicted with fibromyalgia are in the ages of 35 to 55. Children and the elderly may also suffer from it because of the presence of another disease that can also be characterized with chronic fatigue. Genetics are also a possible reason for fibromyalgia. There are families who suffer from the disease. This means that there could be an inherited gene that makes a person more susceptible to fibromyalgia than other people. People who suffer from fibromyalgia may be those also afflicted with lupus, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, hypothyroidism, and other severe joint diseases. Doctors can examine whether the fatigue and aching experienced by these people are caused by their existing illness or by fibromyalgia alone. Patients will not only experience fatigue and aching but also irritable bowel syndrome, morning stiffness, constant lightheadedness, and depression.
