I Guess I Guessed Wrong
"I had all the symptoms that made me think it. Every night was a battle with the sweating or the very frequent chills. Throw in some rapidly changing body heat and some irritable bowel and I had, what I thought, were the early stages of menopause. Boy was I wrong. It was much more than that. I waited a while before going to the doctor. I was completely convinced that my own diagnosis was right. After all, I’m 53. It made since just to think something like that. It took me several months of pain, constant changes in body temperature, and one night of pure bathroom agony that I will not go into further detail about. That was the kicker for me. I had had enough I knew I needed help. I went to see my doctor just a couple of weeks ago and got the news I wasn’t expecting. I had “chronic fatigue syndrome”. Don’t make the same mistaken diagnosis. Get checked out. "
