Will there ever be sweet dreams for people with fibromyalgia?
When we say fibromyalgia, they are almost always coupled with sleeping disorders. One of these disorders is sleep apnea, which is described as the stopping of breathing for a few seconds while asleep. While this may be abnormal for healthy people, it is not uncommon for people suffering from fibromyalgia.
Sleep apnea is also the cause why people with fibromyalgia suddenly wake up from their sleep. As a result, they end up feeling tired in the morning due to their interrupted sleep.
Symptoms of sleep apnea include daytime sleepiness, loud snoring, frequent waking during the night, and high blood.
What’s good about sleep apnea is that there is known treatment for it. The treatment involves wearing a mask while you are sleeping. This mask is connected to a CPAP machine (continuous positive airway pressure) which regulates your breathing. Unfortunately, it is not all that comfortable for some people. But I guess if you’re having this problem, it’s better to use this treatment rather than deal with sleep apnea forever.
