I was diagnosed with chronic
I was diagnosed with chronic myofascial pain nearly 8 years before I was diagnosed with fibro. They put me on tramadol for the CMP and that works well for the most part. I do not like taking drugs, but this one works except for flare ups when I cannot even tolerate the touch of my underware. When I have a flare up, I take an extra dose of tramadol and that takes the edge off, but the down side is that I am usually sleepy for the next couple of hours.
Hi Lucy, Never been on the
Hi Lucy,
Never been on the tramadol..never heard of it. I take DICLOFENAC & MISOPROSTOL (NSAID) which is generic form of ARTHROTEC but the arthrotec seemed to work better..I take that combo 2 times a day and LYRICA at night. The Diclofenac doesnt make me sleepy like the Lyrica. I tried 5 other meds prior to, but had just about every reaction to them listed on the warnings. My insurance won't pay for what works, go figure. They gave me LORCET as well but scared to take too much, don't want to get addicted. I also have Epilepsy so on meds for that as well, again that makes me sleepy and then there is the XANAX..I have my own recipe worked out so i take what makes me sleepy at nite ect. I have found that sitting with my feet and or hands in ice water really helps sounds crazy but for me it works. if I could stand it i swear it fill the tub with it and put my whole body in it. It will be 2 yrs in april that I have worked, I have had my drivers license suspened due to all this, lost my home, and am now on welfare went from living on 1500 a month to 174.00 and food stamps yet social security has denied me. 3 doctors have disabled me but a nurse at ss has determined I can work. IM VENTING. I dont leave the house...don't know when i can...have constant kidney problems UTI's you name it..have pee'd myself and pooped myself on many occassions due to the meds..but I can take public transportation and go to work because I was a customer service rep and none of my elments should conflict with the work I am highly qualified to do. Some days I just feel like giving up... stopping all the meds..letting the seizures and pain take over and seeing what happens then. why they would think i would fake illness and go from my income loose life I had built with my boyfriend, I lived in a 250,000 home ....to live in public housing with drug deals going on next door, and to have to pee in a bucket because i cant make it up the steps sometimes. there is no logic in this government of ours. Maybe I should move to Haiti or another of the countrys we take care of because we sure dont take care of our own when needed. gosh im so sorry you are probally so regretting posting your comment...i am just having a really bad day...sorry. But I got it out of my system. Thanks. Kathy
Hi, Kathy! I am glad you got
Hi, Kathy!
I am glad you got a chance to say all those things. For me, nothing is more frustrating than dealing with all the government bs, banging my head against a wall, fighting my pain, and still trying to hold everything in. Thanks for letting loose. I am sorry you have to deal with all that, but I am in no way sorry I posted anything to get you started. We are here to help each other however we can. Sorry I do not work for SSA, I'd love to be able to help. I do not know what state you live in, is it possible to get legal aid in dealing with the ss system? Seems to me it's like most insurance companies - first answer(s) = NO. Then you have to keep going. Squeaky wheel gets the grease, etc. I was lucky that my ssa rep here did a great job helping me in the filing and followup and made himself available for other paperwork that I needed to submit.
As for the Tramadol, it's like a manmade opioid, but is not addictive. Right now I take it morning and night, with a midday during flareups. I take cymbalta at night altho we have not reached a good dose on that yet as I still hurt every where but my ears. Ice works for my joints, but a hot bath works for my skin/muscles. I end up trying to figure which is worse to decide what to do.
Of your drugs, I have only heard of xanax and lyrica. Hope you have a good day, Kathy. Laura
