Am trying to get registered
Am trying to get registered on the blog and I'm not sure I'm doing it right. Anyhow, was diagnosed with fibro early Dec. 10. Symptoms came on very slowly and think I've had this for a good year. Was in major pain in my legs, then it spread to my arms and shoulders. My pa put me on Lyrica and the pain has decreased about 75%. My fatigue has lessened also, A week ago thought I would push myself and go for 5 straight days running and going to meetings etc. Thought I was doing real good until came the weekend and I began to crash. Sat not so bad, Sunday was worse and was in bed from fatigue and pain for 5 days. Read on a blog this is called a flareup. At least I know what I did to myself and that there is a name for it! Now am pacing myself. Never had to pace me and my activities but am trying hard to do so this week. My denal hygenist has it too and told me she is on heavy doses of Iodine and it has stopped her fibro fog. Think I have it, don't want it, but I know I do. Was thrilled a finally knowing what was wrong with me but that went away when I realized what a life changing thing this has become. My husband and father died several years ago within months of each other. Moved up to Oakhurst,CA to care for my 93 yr old mother. Lived with her for almost 2 years, was not working out to put it mildly, so I moved out and live in a darling apartment now with my beloved cat Rikki Jo (I'ts a she) and have a good life. I intend to keep it that way. Think I went into shock then denial now acceptance. Look forward to talking to you about this condition and how it can best be handled.
Hi Diane, So glad you joined
Hi Diane,
So glad you joined us, although I am sorry that you have been diagnosed with FM.
It sounds as though you are getting a handle on how FM affects you and your life, and how your life is changing. It can be difficult to accept limits on what you can do, especially if you were always one of those people who could do anything!
I'm glad to hear that the Lyrica has helped you in reducing your pain. The drug works wonders for some, and not so well for others. It is good to hear a success story!
As for what supplements you can take, please view the section on natural treatments, which has the information you are looking for in terms of supplements that may help. Look around the site, and feel free to ask a question if needed.
Again, welcome!
