i have been on cymbalta for almost a year and wondering if it helping me. what can you suggest i do?

Hi mims4now, I am assuming

Hi mims4now,

I am assuming that you are saying that Cymbalta is not really helping you? If it was, you would not be asking me this question, I suspect!

One option is to try a different medication that is targeted towards treating the symptoms of fibromyalgia, such as Savella or Lyrica. What are the primary symptoms that you feel Cymbalta is not addressing adequately? Pain? Sleeping difficulties? Depression? There are many medications that may be helpful depending on your primary symptoms.

Diet, exercise and adequate rest/sleep are also important components in feeling well. Only you know how you are doing in these areas! Achieving wellness (or quality of life with fibromyalgia) is dependent upon many factors.

If you feel that your symptoms are getting worse and tha Cymbalta is not effective, you may want to discuss this issue with your primary care physician. He/she may want to try something new or order some tests if it has been awhile since your last appointment.

I hope you find the answer you are seeking!
