Does fibro cause problems with blood sugar getting low

Lately I have been

Lately I have been experiencing major problems with low blood sugar....between the fibro fog and the low bs I stay drunk all the time....it makes it really hard to concentrate....

Yes, there is a correlation

Yes, there is a correlation between fibromyalgia and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). The exact mechanism is not fully understood (which is not surprising, as the exact cause of fibromyalgia is not fully understood, either!)

In hypoglycemia, individuals are unable to process carbohydrates effectively, resulting in low blood sugar levels.Symptoms may include:

dizziness
confusion
weakness
hunger
sweating
anxiety
drowsiness

In reactive hypoglycemia, symptoms generally occur several hours after eating.A healthy diet of regularly scheduled meals will usually avert the problem. In fasting hypogycemia, the cause is related to an underlying disorder or medications. It is important to distinguish between the two types, as treatment for fasting hypoglycemia is aimed at treating the underlying condition. If you are suffering from symptoms of hypoglcemia, it is important to see your doctor so that the cause of your hypoglycemia can be determined i.e. whether fibromyalgia is causing hypoglycemia or there is something else going on.

Hope this helps, and be well.
