Hypothyroidism fibromyalgia correlation?

Many people who are diagnosed

Many people who are diagnosed with hypothroidism also eventually receive a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. The two conditions share many symptoms in common: fatigue, depression, muscle and joint pain, brain fog, constipation...the list goes on. Whether the two are related is still up in the air. Some experts say they are, while others refuse to state a correlation.

I think it is a "chicken or the egg" situation, and because the two share so many similarities in terms of symptoms, it is easy to see why they might be confused with one another.

A Dr. Lowe has done some controversial work on this subject, treating fibromyalgia with high-dose thyroid medication. If you do a search, you will find information regarding his theory. I think there needs to be a lot more research done in this area, simply because the two overlap so much in symptoms.

If you learn anymore regarding this subject from your doctors, we would love to hear!
